Studios and actors union extend talks as threat of 2nd Hollywood strike looms

The SAG-AFTRA actors union and major Hollywood studios agreed to extend their current labour agreement through July 12 and keep trying to reach a new deal, the two sides said in a statement on Friday. 

Netflix Inc., Walt Disney Co. and Hollywood’s other major film and television studios had been racing against a midnight deadline to reach a deal with the SAG-AFTRA actors union and avert a second labour strike this summer.
