Police have confirmed that two suspicious devices discovered within 24 hours in the same Kamloops, B.C., neighbourhood this week were pipe bombs.
According to Kamloops RCMP, officers responded to a report of a suspicious package on the roadside in the 2100-block of Sifton Avenue in the city’s Aberdeen neighbourhood around 9 p.m. PT Tuesday.
This followed a report on Monday evening about a suspicious package on the 900-block of Greystone Crescent, less than two kilometres away.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said the RCMP Explosive Device Unit, which had been dispatched from B.C.’s Lower Mainland, determined the two packages were pipe bombs.
