The lifestyles, investments and influence of wealthy people who make more than $140,000 US a year are destroying the environment, according to a study by Oxfam International. It found that the world’s richest one per cent produced more carbon emissions than the poorest two-thirds of humanity in 2019. Clarification: This video has been updated to elaborate on the focus of the Oxfam report and to exclude references to Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift, in part because the time frame of the report predates the examples used in the original video.
