The end of the line has finally come for any remaining BlackBerry smartphones out there.
The Waterloo, Ont.-based company has officially pulled the plug on the software and infrastructure that powers its legacy smartphones and handheld devices — and says they will stop working today.
That means devices running on the BB10 or BlackBerry OS platform “will no longer reliably function, including for data, phone calls, SMS and 911 calls,” the company says.
