When word spread recently that both King Charles and his daughter-in-law, Catherine, Princess of Wales, were dealing with health concerns, different approaches to the line between private and public life for senior royals were on display.
Catherine’s news came first. An announcement from Kensington Palace on Jan. 17 said she was in hospital after planned abdominal surgery, would remain there for up to two weeks and is not likely to resume public duties until after Easter. No further details
