Mississauga council wants integrity commissioner to investigate allegations councillor keyed colleague's car

Mississauga council has asked the city’s integrity commissioner to investigate allegations that a sitting councillor repeatedly vandalized the vehicle of one of his council colleagues.

Councillors made the move Wednesday, passing a motion unanimously that also called on Ward 6 Coun. Ron Starr to take a leave of absence during the investigation. 

“It has come to our attention that a complaint was lodged by former Councillor Karen Ras against Councillor Ron Starr related to property damage in the underground garage of the Mississauga Civic Centre,” the motion said.

The motion asks integrity commissioner Robert Swayze to determine whether Starr “engaged in harassing behaviour” in
