Ontario’s top doctor says he’s reviewing timelines for Ontario’s reopening plan and all other COVID-19 measures now that a massive wave of Omicron variant cases is receding, joining several other provinces that have made similar moves this week.
Dr. Kieran Moore says the Omicron wave has peaked and it’s time to focus on resuming other activities in the health system and society at large.
Now that hospitalizations, intensive care admissions and other virus indicators are improving, the province is lifting a directive that paused all surgeries deemed non-urgent and is allowing them to resume gradually.
