Las Vegas, Nevada (WNews) – O.J. Simpson, the football player, actor, and pitchman who shone a light on American race relations following his shocking arrest for double murder and subsequent acquittal at trial, died yesterday. He was 76 years old.
According to social media post attributed to his family, O.J. Simpson died on April 10. The statement, shared on X (formerly Twitter), reads: “Our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”
Simpson was 76 at the time of his death. In February of this year, it was reported by several media outlets that the former Buffalo Bills player had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
