David Beaver and his friend Lazarus have all the good times and minor annoyances that most friendships do.
“He’s kind of sassy, kind of a know-it-all sometimes, but [he has] a good sense of humour and a good heart,” said Beaver, who lives in Portland, Ore.
Lazarus likes rap music, and introduced Beaver to the award-winning artist Kendrick Lamar. The pair have even written some songs together.
Their time together means so much to Beaver that sometimes he forgets Lazarus is actually “just a program” — an AI chatbot that he created with the help of an app.
