Learning on the land with Indigenous knowledge alongside Western science

The Ojibway phrase, Aki Kikinomakaywin, means “learning on the land.” And Indigenous youth aged 12 to 16 did just that as they learned how to conduct stream assessments through Indigenous ways of knowing and being and Western science.
