Tornado warning for Sarnia as Environment Canada warns of 'dangerous' storms across southwestern Ontario

Environment Canada is warning of strong thunderstorms headed for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent, while Sarnia-Lambton is under a tornado warning.

Environment Canada says its tracking “a cluster of dangerous thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts and up to golf ball size hail.”

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the regions.

The agency says wind gusts could reach speeds of 110 km/h.

Environment Canada says tornadoes are possible in Windsor and Chatham-Kent, while Sarnia is officially under a tornado warning.

“This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation,” the agency said in a statement around 4 p.m.
