Canadaās menās soccer team says the national organization is āattempting to capitalize on the pressure of the Womenās World Cupā to force an āinadequateā compensation deal.
In a statement posted to social media on Tuesday, the menās team said it is working with the womenās team ā which plays its second World Cup group-stage match on Wednesday ā to finalize a short-term payment agreement with Canada Soccer.
āUnfortunately, Canada Soccer has reduced its offers from one proposal to the next despite receiving no additional or higher demands from the national team players,ā the statement read.
The menās team added that it remains unpaid
